A week ago my remote control produced a popping sound twice and I wondered what it could be ,the glass tele continued to work for that week irregardless of that incident. Days later on discovered the remote AAA batteries had burst and I replaced them.
Now I have a problem the television is a newly bought refurbished one,it's only allowing me to switch on and it goes to the home screen and slide screen that shows top picks, any further attempt to any further selection it pops a grey bar from the bottom which consists of inaccessible options like search shows and movies, audio output tv speakers etc. I request for help if anyone has a clue. Thank you

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreTry resetting the remote
Press 7 and 9 together on your Sky remote for three seconds (This resets/clears the remote)
Press 1 and 3 together for three seconds (bluetooth mode) and follow any on-screen instructions.
The next option sounds insane but a number of users have reported it resolving the issue with their remotes. You could try holding the remote at both ends and giving it a gentle twist as though you were wringing out a towel.
If none of these options work you can request a replacement remote via this link: https://www.sky.com/help/forms/streaming-tv-remote
If you have an old Sky Q remote, you can use that as an interim solution whilst you await the new remote.

Tried all of those last night, countless times. Seems to be a regular occurrence by the looks of things. Just ordered a new remote now. Thank you for trying to help though.
