Re: Speech out of sync on Sky glass

Such a good comment, Sky have worked on this since December (or so they tell me) and it's still not fixed with no actual fix date in site. I've just given up with Sky after 25 years and moved to Virgin, which gives me much faster broadband and is a lot cheaper. The bonus is no lip sync issues.

Re: Speech out of sync on Sky glass

Come on sky get the software rolled out to the pucks.....our sky glass tv has been great since the v35 update but pucks still on 34...just turned over to BBC 2 for the women's rugby and within 10 mins it's out of synch again (watching in mancave via one of our pucks). Change channel fixed as normal but please get it rolled out.

@Tashy+Man The QS035 update for the puck started rolling out 2 nights ago.  I was updated and so far (🤞) everything is working smoothly with no watch from start or lip sync issues.  As you probably know the software is released in batches so you just have to wait until it is your turn which hopefully will not be too long.

Re: Speech out of sync on Sky glass

Hi Anne , thought I would let you know what's happened so far. My sky glass tv was delivered in December 2023 and was ok to start with however I  had problems with the sync in January and reported to sky who "were aware of the problem " and about to issue new software. They actually replaced my glass tv in Feb but the problem has now come back so not sure where I go from here

regards Peter

There is a fix for the lip sync issue rolling out gradually to customers, as detailed above in the answered post.

Can you check which firmware your glass has and is it a gen 1 ?

Re: Speech out of sync on Sky glass

Mine is Sky Glass V1 firmware QS035.013..P, the sync issue is still present albeit only a short delay but frustrating more than previously, occurred watching Beyond Paradise this evening on BBC 1, swapped channel and back and was ok but reoccurred within 20 mins. The update has improved but old issues including black screen and program loading especially are causing me to have to restart through settings which is not a quick fix as with the old sound issue. Surely it must be coming to the point where Sky have to publicly acknowledge that gen 1 is not the product claimed and if it is only a "small number of users" then perhaps they can swap this kit out for the new gen 2, I await with interest the defended super users response

Re: Speech out of sync on Sky glass

Since receiving QS035.013.00P not had any problems with lip sync and I'm happy that it's fixed but I don't think Sky would swap out customers with Gen 1 for Gen 2 tvs if this issue was ongoing because they just swap it out with your same tv.

Re: Speech out of sync on Sky glass

I too am still having lip sync issues after the new update installation - I thought it had been fixed but it obviously hasn't - trying to watch the news is awful

Can you confirm it's only on bbc you are seeing the lip synch issue?

Re: Speech out of sync on Sky glass

No - it's gone back to any channel again but GB news AND Sky Sports are the worst especially Sky Sports Plus. We noticed the lip sync issues after Plus had been added to the tv but thought maybe it would eventually rectify itself, but unfortunately it didn't and then things progressed from there!

Sky Glass sound sync issue from HDMI

I don't see a specific thread for this, like there is for the sound sync issue on live streams.

The sound on devices connected through HDMI frequently goes extremely out of sync, and the only way to temporarily resolve it is to fully reboot the TV. Rebooting the TV takes a couple minutes, which makes this quite annoying.

The sound goes out of sync by more than a second, making any media consumption from a PC extremely frustrating. This has been going on since I got my Sky Glass over two years ago. No update has ever addressed or fixed this.

It looks like it might happen faster and more frequently if I connect my Sky Glass to an external Bluetooth DAC, to get headphone functionality. But it also happens even when there is no Bluetooth devices set up for the TV.

Add the almost as long running sound sync issues on live broadcasts, this TV is extremely frustrating to use. Especially considering its not so low price, compared to similar Samsung or LG TVs.
