Got sky glass a few weeks back, and found this....
Some channels, you hit the 'plus' button, and the on-screen message says "XXX has been added to your playlist and has been set to record series". Others, like the ITV channels, only say "XXX has been added to your playlist" and doesn't say it'll record.
So.... I go to the playlist, and guess what? Nothing there, it seems the only way I can watch those shows, is at the time they're on. If I'd have known that, I wouldn't have got Glass, and considering getting rid of it already.

The reason are well covered in other Community discussions😉
Do you have an example of an ITV programme that fails to play from the playlist?

ITV shows will play back from the ITVX app, as long as ITV hold the streaming rights for that particular programme.
Sky Glass does not 'record' in the same sense as Sky Q or another hard drive based PVR. The playlist is merely a link to a file on a server which you will have access to if the original broadcaster and/or Sky has the on demand streaming rights for it.

The way the playlist will work is that if Sky are legally allowed to they will take a "cloud recording" of a playlisted show when its being broadcast and the playlist will link to that. Otherwise the playlist will link to the on-demand version of that show on one of the streaming apps (Iplayer, ITV X, Disney+ etc) should it be available. You may notice that you playlist a show from a broadcaster like C4, but the playlist will take you to the Disney + app to watch the show on demand as Disney are the ones who own the on-demand rights for that particular show, so you would need a Disney + account to watch it.

@MarkGoldsmith "You may notice that you playlist a show from a broadcaster like C4, but the playlist will take you to the Disney + app" And if the show in question isn't on any app?
As sad as I am, the show I was trying to watch was Battlebots. I checked the ITV X app, it aint there. There's no indication of where else to look, and when you search for 'Battlebots', it only finds what's on ITV4.... that I cant 'record'.

An Battlebots - I've also watched that show in the past.
So form my recollection the show is on ITv X but only when they have new seasons of the show and the episodes are on for 30 days after initial broadcast and the removed.
i do recall seeing the odd season older season appear for Netflix in the past when doing a search for it but they seem to have gone as well.

They are shown on both boomerang and itvx
if I add one to my playlist (from the tv guide) on boomerang it cloud records and states recorded on the playlist and will playback with the original adverts
if I add one to my playlist from itv on the tv guide it will open and playback from the itvx app but only for 30 days
