Moaning mode starting...
Does anyone has info when the new FW is out for the Sky Glass? It's been a while since we had a new version - and this annoying "Software update in progress." message always returns - even after I left the TV unplugged for 12 hours or more... 😞
Btw, in the contrary the Sky Live software version is gradually increasing over time - which is the desirable way - without having this annoying message...
Moaning mode finished... 😉

Is you have the latest software all you need to do is wait, you can't force an uppdate.

Yep , had that for a about a week now , tried the usual , turn it off at the mains for a bit , selected refresh apps , it goes away for a while but then comes back as In Progress

Since a good few months ago it will always list software update in progress when you select build version in settings
Ignore it
Latest Build version
Sky Stream Puck is QS022.009.00P
That started to be rolled out a few days ago
Sky Glass is still on QS021
That will get QS22 update soon for some customers and others later over the next few weeks
Note
When customers Sky Glass and Sky Stream get new build versions will vary as they are rolled out in batches
You will see some customers get the updates days/weeks before others that's normal

Do these Build version updates stop all sky channels from operating? How long do they take?
I'm new to Sky Stream and it's not great to do a software update at 5:30pm on a Sunday evening.

As mentioned in the posts above the message saying "Software Update in Progress" is actually just a minor bug and is not actually in progress. Updates are done overnight and are carried out in the background so you can still use your system. I have no idea how long they take as I have never seen one actually taking place.
Updates are roughly a monthly event but this is not always the case. The last update (QS22) has only been for the Stream puck so far (my Glass is still on QS21).
The post above from @Paul+Boland is pretty informative on this subject and well worth a read.

Hi,
Thanks for the welcome. My change from Sky+ boxes feels quite the technological advance. The Stream puck wouldn't show any Sky channel pictures stating "loading" or "technical fault". The only other message was "software system updating". This went on for about 25 minutes. Eventually, after 3rd or 4th time of restarting the Stream puck it actually got Sky programmed back. All ok now.
