Sky remote

I am new to Sky Stream

I am trying to connect my account on the TV. But I am unable to use the remote. It will not register, everything has been checked.
On ordering I  ask if someone could come and help. However I was told I would not need help!

@TrudyRWith your glass/stream turned on press 1 & 3 on the remote at the same time and this should pair the remote.

If that fails press 7 and 9 together which resets the remote and then try the 1 & 3 again.

Thank you for replying. It turns out it was not the remote, but me not pushing the centre button.
