Sky glass with no sky subscription

Hi. I have a sky glass tv but I've cancelled my sky tv package. Going to use it as a smart tv. Is there anyway to watch live tv without going in the apps? I want to be able to go into tv guide and see what's on all free channels rather than using iPlayer for bbc channels, Chanel 4 for all their channels.

Only by attaching an aerial to the socket on the rear, tuning to Digital Terrestrial Television (sometimes referred to as 'Freeview') and using the built-in DTTV EPG.  Channel availability will be based on local transmission/reception. and the on-board network connection may need disabling for a DTTV option to appear.

Unfortunately DTTV isn't particularly satisfactory on Glass, and a 'real' Freeview (or Freesat*) box connected over HDMI is likely to be better.

No 'free' channels are streamed into the Glass EPG where there isn't a Sky content subscription in place: the Sky EPG on Glass is itself a subscription-only service.

Note that despite what Sky claims: Glass is not a 'smart TV': it's a bespoke platform specified, designed and intended for consumption of Sky subscription services and those from other companies Sky has partnered with.

hi @Superheroes

No. Without a subscription you loose access to the TV guide. Unless you disconnect from the internet and use an aerial.

Yes. You can downgrade to the ultimate TV pack. You can do this by giving 31 days notice and as long as you are outside a minimum term. You can do this in the my Sky app or by calling Sky.
