Hi, does anyone know how to mirror the mobile screen on the TV?

So I got a new Sky Glass a couple of weeks ago.

It had Airplay and Homekit features.

At the time I didn't realise this wasn't standard functionality.

I ended up having to exchange it due to a bad screen (DSE was very noticable).

New model arrived and I've now lost these features 😞

Anoyingly I didn't make a note of software versions before exchnage but can only assume it's a soon to be released feature upgrade?

Fingers cross 🙂

Dave.

AirPlay is in the latest software update for Sky Glass that was released last week.

Sky slowly roll out the software update to batches of devices over several weeks.

Hi @Javi+CB and welcome to the forum.  Unfortunately Glass does not have the ability to mirror, cast or use Apple AirPlay.  In my opinion this is a major oversight by Sky.

The only way you can do this is to add a third party device to Glass for example an Apple TV or Firestick etc.

Re: Sky glass tv

Thanks for confrming Mark,

Any idea on the software versions I'm looking for?

Can I force an update or would that not help, i.e. are that just making it avaiable to batches of serial numbers at a time?

Cheers,

Dave.

Nope you can't force it - you just need to wait for your device to be included in the rollout.

Re: Sky glass tv

Yes, its a great addition.

I have found the new software to be a little buggy with network connection (when first coming out of standby).

Mine is connected via a network cable as opposed to wifi.

Leaving it on and pressing the home button a few times (waiting 10 secs between) seems to sort it.

I've also found the homekit control can be a bit hit and miss tring to bring it out of standby (probably also network related).

Interested to know other peoples experience.

Also, for those interested, this update also adds eARC audio support for Sonos sound bar!!! 🙂

Well done Sky, great additions.

Dave.
