Re: Sky glass tv at end of contract

I almost got caught up with Sky glass but thanks to Sky (overseas operator) totally messing up my order they decided to deliver the glass tv to my old address. After many a call finally i cancelled it and went with Sky stream at my new home.

And im glad I did - why would any one pay a crazy price for technology which is over 3 years old. I bought a fab Samsung for under 400 quid - got all my devices included stream added - and to be fair had very few issues with stream - but I actually spend more time logged into my Fire TV stick than stream.

They are things I miss from Sky Q but not many. So I would not be advising anyone these days to be getting suckered into buying a Sky Glass TV from 2021 at 2024 prices. Maybe if sky get it together and release a Sky Glass 2 I would look again. But at the moment unless your desperate for a TV and dont have funds to buy a new one upfront - dont see the need when Stream does everything you need

Re: Sky glass tv at end of contract

I wouldn't say that Sky Glass was great, but it depends on what you are coming from, if you already have a high-end TV then Glass will most likely be a downgrade in that

The Smart features are OK, the voice control is so-so and the picture quality is OK (especially if you know what you are doing with settings and such), I would say that the sound is probably the best thing about the Glass TV, but again if you are already using a high-end soundbar this may be a downgrade

I would recommend Sky Glass if you are coming from a lower end TV and sound setup, but not if you already have a higher end setup

If you don't mind me asking how did you sell it as I was thinking under the impression it's literally tied to my account and as with many others I'm not happy with the quality of the product.

Hi @MrTigg

You are free to sell your glass. It is your property. As long as you ensure you pay the finance element where applicable.

Anyone purchasing it can add it to their account if they have whole home or set up a streaming account. This is documented in this article: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/buying-sky-glass-second-hand
