Sky glass power on issues

I have had no Internet since the storms in September when everyone was having trouble turning sky glass on, spoke to sky that day, said it won't work without Internet. Today, finally have Internet (new cabling outside and streetwise required, pretty crappy really) glass doesn't work, try hard reset multiple times. Contact CS to be told basically tough, you're out of warranty youpp need to buy another at the cost of nearly £500 sack that, even plugged into ethernet, the only light I've got is the mic light in white and a flicker of white at the start of the hard reset turn on. Has anyone got any ideas, I'm fuming at the minute as we weren't aware the warranty didn't cover the finance as we've always made sure to cover finance periods with insurance or warranties 😡😡😡 to basically be told tough 💩 an absolute Joke.

Re: Sky glass power on issues

So according to that I need to order a new power cable but the tv is getting power as the mic light is on, also ske tech help didn't suggest this it was rough, pay for a new tv. I'm hoping the useless tv somehow gets the update it appears many others got from reading their problems from the same period. Thanks for trying to answer.

@Blahblahblah4 it could be a blown power supply which a local TV repairer may be able to fix. Storms often cause power surges which damagecelectrical kit especially if lightening struck nearby. If it is storm damage your home insurance may pay for a replacement.

Hi @Blahblahblah4

If you are getting power try step four. The recovery process was the fix for the outage which you are referring to.

One complication is Glass has a two year hardware warranty but the loan repayment options are either 24 or 48 months.

Re: Sky glass power on issues

You can use a Glass TV without an internet connection by connecting a Terrestrial TV aerial🤔

@Blahblahblah4 If you had done that would you have been in the 2 year warranty period and able to make a warranty claim?

Re: Sky glass power on issues

No we were 4 months over the warranty may be worth trying a new power cable
