I'd suggest fully rebooting the set (remove and then replace the power plug) and then check the appropriate settings are still enabled:

Sky seem to have stopped promoting the motion sensor feature of Sky Glass. It's certainly not front and centre of the current advertising on the website. Perhaps they've realised that it doesn't actually work particularly well and have sidelined it, or hope that people won't actually notice it's even there?
It's not mentioned anywhere on the main Sky Glass information page. The only mention of the motion sensor is buried on the 'energy features' section of the tech specs page.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@floydgourlay in my experience, you have to walk directly in front of the TV to get it to come on automatically. Simply walking into the room where the TV is located doesn't do it.
(Just as easy actually to say 'hello Sky' to turn it on)

Iv e found the below fixes some glitches like missing voice control
Switch tv to standby (either with remote, or with button on side of set)
Switch off at plug
Switch on at plug (no waiting necessary)
When red standby light comes on, press Home button on remote.
