So I have just come home to watch the itv news and missed it by 5 minutes. Can anyone tell me how I get the itv evening news instantly? No itv+1 or on the streaming app (I can get last nights but that's no use)

They only way is via watch from start button. However this relies on the broadcaster making it available. If there no button is available, it may be available via ITVX.
Edit: looking through the forum some news programmes.are only available live due to licence restrictions. See: https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-Glass-Live/Why-can-t-I-watch-the-news-later-instead-of-only-live/m-...

thanks for the reply so now I've missed it I haven't got the "watch at the start" option, no itv+1 and can't record. How is glass better then Q 🤦♂️

Sky Glass & Stream should be advertised as a different service rather than a better service than Sky Q. Each service have their advantages and disadvantages depending on how you watch TV.

Do Sky advertise Sky Stream as being better than Sky Q?
@Nick27111981 have you complained to ITV about ITV News not supporting restart?

No satellite dish required and UHD on every screen?
As noted, Glass/Stream is different. Whether it's better depends on viewing habits: local recording is definitely preferable in some circumstances.
