Sky active this page is restricted

Bought a sky glass tv. I'm trying to activate it, the TV screen asks you to go to sky.com//activate which I do, I set up a sky id account but it's always goes to "this page is restricted" sorry you can't view this page.

What can I do to activate my TV and link it to my account.

@Stevecrammond  Are you logged into your Sky account before accessing the activation page?

Second hand, I've tried all of those steps numerous times. Always leads me to restricted page or to call sky for assistance.

@Stevecrammond  Just to confirm when you login to your Sky account can you access your bills on that Sky ID?

Also check you didn't create a new Sky ID when you bought the Glass TV.

@Stevecrammond  I thinlk you'll need to call Sky in this case as it's a 2nd hand set.

As this is a second hand  sky glass  i believe  you will need to ring sky  and  give them the serial number of the tv so you can activate it  on your account

@Stevecrammond  if you brought it second hand you need to call sky so they can add it to your existing account or create a new one you can't do it yourself

And setup  a sky subscription  for the tv, if not just plug in  an a tv aerial  and use it that way, and connect  other devices to it  by the hdmi connection

Re: Sky active this page is restricted

Thanks for the advice everyone, I think I'm gonna need to call them. I have 2 glass TVs one in the bedroom one in the living room both factory reset.

Id like to be able to even use the smart TV function like the netflix Spotify apps, but can't even do this without it being added to my account.

I can use an Amazon stick for these functions but I was hoping to have the quality and elegance of these TVs  but sky make it incredibly difficult where as u can plug in a simple android device which beats them hands down on simplicity of use. I love the TVs but why have you effectively locked out from being able to use other app functions outside of sky's subscriptions?

@Stevecrammond  I take it that you don't currently have a tv subscription of any kind with sky

to be able to get the TVs activated you would need to subscribe to the sky essentials package for a minimum of 31 days before being able to cancel that subscription element

but to have more than one device on the account regardless of whether you only use one at a time you would also need to take a monthly whole home subscription and keep paying this monthly just to use the apps on both devices

see this Post  from a sky employee which is from a similar thread
