Regardind the watch together feature: what happens when someone in the party DOES NOT HAVE the needed subscription to watch the programme (Like the Sky Movies/Sky sports package) could they still join the watch party?

Apparently they get the sidebar with the video feeds from the other participants, and an advert to subscribe to the appropriate add-on in the main window where the content should be.

The reasons Facebook dropped portal were not because it was doing badly in sales or performance.

Can you (or anyone else), confirm or deny, that you can only 'watch together' an HD programme? I read elsewhere that was the case.

Re: Sky Live, the new interactive camera for Sky Glass

I took delivery of the Sky Live camera yesterday morning but to my dismay I am finding it impossible to fit by myself due to our Sky Glass being wall mounted and it proving extremely difficult to plug the camera in?I called SKY for assistance and after a long discussion including video messages I was unable to resolve my problem.The Sky glass would need to be lifted off of the wall for the camera to be plugged in and that is not within my capabilities as a 66 year old man. I was informed that it isn't even possible to have an engineer come to fit it up so it looks like I will have to send it back.The man I was speaking to said he would call back but that didn't happen.I'm extremely disappointed.

Re: Sky Live Glass Camera Launch

You can as it's giving me the option on a sky movies uhd film.

I bet it'll be like the previous comments that if they don't have uhd it wont show for them.

@techman9 doubt you are correct as the Sky Live concept was planned from the launch in 2021 as a Sky Glass exclusive. Sky seem quite happy with the sales of Glass despite your apparent view its a disaster. Certainly zero signs Sky are moving out of the TV market.

Certainly in its current form Sky Live needs a data feed from the TV as it lacks its own network connection. The puck has no such output so the concept would need complete re-engineering.

I suppose it depends if and when they launch v2 of the TV, if that's the case the sheep will follow and get one of those as with the camera they probably won't use in a years time.  I would bet though a puck will be released at some point with compatability with the camera, guess we will wait and see.

Thanks @PieMark

I assume that is an on demand UHD movie?

Does it give you the option to watch together for live UHD sport?

@stereohaven

@PieMark

Pretty sure that I read/saw that UHD isn't available (yet) on Watch Together. So, in the scenario of choosing a UHD movie/sport, the HD version will be shown.

Quite impressed by it and kids LOVE the games. Especially my 5 year old as he said it's easier to play than switch.

I think this will really pick up once developers get going and more brands get on board.

Actually its not just kids this geriatric enjoyed a session of Fruit Ninja far more than my dignity should allow.😅

Sky Live needs to plug into the USB C connector on the back of the TV so unfortunately you will need to find assistance to remove it off wall if it is not possible to plug it in, in situ as requires two people to move it.
