Find out more@82bit my own unit arrived this morning not going to have too much time to play with it but the set up was straight forward - once that was I found the set up tile on the top rail. Motion tracking seems fine as does picture quality of the camera. I needed the rubber wedge to tilt the camera correctly.

So just messing around with Sky Live and wanted to call my wife on her phone. How do I do that? Have I got to import contacts into zoom or something? Cos that's giving me an error too

Frankly it's not really 'video calling': one of you sets up a meeting room and then invites the other, because Zoom is fundamentally a meetings tool rather than a mobile communication app.

Hi
There's a Sky Live setup video on Yt from Sky

Ah I just saw the advert and it said dial their TV, their Tablet or their Phone.

Yes, well, that's advertising for you...
Zoom as a company does do IP telephony, but the Zoom app in Sky Live isn't it.
Like I said, it's essentially a scheduled meeting room environment: as @Jporch316 indicates, you may be able to get a Zoom app elsewhere to generate a notification that a meeting set up using Zoom in Live has started.

Fair enough, thanks for the replies. I was just foolishly expecting to jump on, dial someone's number and be talking.
you'd think I'd have learned by now not to listen to advertisements

The funny thing is, Zoom themselves always refer to 'meetings' and not 'calls'...
It's everyone else, apparently including Sky, who thinks it's a video messaging app.

Yes you CAN call them but not as easy as you'd hope.
On their mobile (I.e wife) tell them to download and register to zoom.
on your mobile download and register to zoom too.
then one of you send a request to add each other to your zoom contacts by using the email address registered.
then once that's done login in to zoom on sky live with the email provided and there's a contacts option. You can select them from this and it'll call their mobile. NO MEETING INVITE REQUIRED.
however.... to receive an incoming call on sky live you need to have zoom open at the time.

I think they will look back soon and think duh! and probably redesign a puck compatible with the camera, as i can't imagine they will miss out on all that extra £xxxxx

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@techman9 doubt you are correct as the Sky Live concept was planned from the launch in 2021 as a Sky Glass exclusive. Sky seem quite happy with the sales of Glass despite your apparent view its a disaster. Certainly zero signs Sky are moving out of the TV market.
Certainly in its current form Sky Live needs a data feed from the TV as it lacks its own network connection. The puck has no such output so the concept would need complete re-engineering.

Mine arrived yesterday - lightning fast next-day delivery by DPD. I will setup the gear this afternoon...
Regardind the watch together feature: what happens when someone in the party DOES NOT HAVE the needed subscription to watch the programme (Like the Sky Movies/Sky sports package) could they still join the watch party?

All need to have sky live.... 💰💸💵

Quite impressed by it and kids LOVE the games. Especially my 5 year old as he said it's easier to play than switch.
I think this will really pick up once developers get going and more brands get on board.
