Think this is coming out at precisely the wrong time for Sky with Apple announcing continuity camera on Apple TV is coming in next update you will get same sort of set up but you won't be limited on what tv you have. And if you have an iPhone or Apple TV already all you will need buy is a stand for your Phone next to TV or a clip for phone over TV

Re: Sky Live Glass Camera Launch

I'm amazed they're still bothering with this TBH.

Launching it in the middle of summer seems utterly bonkers...

Still, they've been working on it long enough so at least we can be assured that it'll work perfectly and not have any of the issues that seem to plague the actual Glass software...😉

Having a hundred thousand or so sitting in a warehouse might be an incentive ; )

I've always maintained that anyone who bought a Glass television in the year from October '21 to '22 should be given a camera free as an apology...

Certainly, and worth noting that while the camera itself is hardware, 'Sky Live' appears to be a service, and Sky does like to charge a subscription for services...

If there's a subscription price just for video calling then it will be an absolute failure

Also a fact to consider is that sky already have a customer base for the camera in all of us who already have a glass tv ........

pricing will be interesting......

Very true but what percentage of them are going want a camera above there TV is main question and another is how long are people going be happy with there TVs. Would of been a far bigger install base and longer term if they had designed the puck with this in mind.

I'd agree.  Personally I think more of an issue is that if Glass users can only call other Glass users then it's a pretty limited user base unless we start calling each other to complain Glass isn't working again, but there's a certain logical fallacy to that ; )
