Sky Glass restart subscription

Hi

When we moved into our new house around 4 years ago I opted to go with sky; specifically sky glass and had my tv subscriptions running through my sky glass tv. Around a year ago I cancelled my tv subriptions but kept the sky glass tv (using it as a smart tv effectively)... I work for an alternative streaming provider so thought I would give it a go as I receive a good colleague discount however after using the kit for a while I'm not too keen on having to switch between devices to watch different things/apps. I called sky today about re-instating my tv subscription using my current sky glass tv and they have advised me I need to have a stream puck to plug into my sky glass tv for it to work? This doesn't sound right to me not sure if anyone can help please.

no that's not right - I recently gifted my daughter our old sky glass and she was able to call sky and setup a new contract on the glass tv at her address and in her name

@gwebb96  How long ago did you stop your Sky TV sub?  Less that 18 months?  If so can you log into your Sky account and does it allow you to re-add TV packs to Glass?

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Sky really need to train their staff better.
Connecting a Stream puck to a Glass TV is an idiotic thing to suggest.
The whole point of Sky Glass is that it's an all in one solution to receiving Sky TV without any dish or additional box.
Call them again and please tell them how their own product functions.

Ultimately this is what happens when the majority of customer services is offshored to cheaper locations where high turnover in the job is something that is expected.

Sky CS aren't unique in providing incorrect information, we have seen posts on this community where Paramount + and Netflix CS staff have also given completely incorrect advice due to not having a full understanding of the service they are supporting.
