Sky Glass recording

I have just been on the phone with Sky trying to reduce my bill. They have offered Sky glass and said it has 10,000 hours recording which remain in place for 12 months. Has anyone got experience with this as I thought it didnt had a hard drive? TIA

@AVAARDT  I'm not sure that statement is 100% accurate as On demand content can vary from broadcaster to broadcaster and will only be there if they have the rights to a particular show/film.

Shows saved for 12 months

Most shows and movies in your Playlist will be saved for 12 months. Some that are available through a TV app, like Netflix or ITVX, might not be available for that long, as they have different contractual agreements.

For example, most programmes from BBC iPlayer are available for 12 months. But some, like Match of the Day or the News, aren't available for as long.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Sky Glass has no recording in the traditional sense. Programs and films etc are available via cloud streaming and apps at the broadcasters behest. Streaming however is the way forward like it or not and most content is available to stream.

1,000 hours was the figure floating around at launch back in 2021: I believe it's 'up to' 12 months though because the reliance on other channel apps means retention time may be much shorter.

We have Sky Glass 2,  previously had Sky Q, love it, the "Watch from Start" is brilliant would never go back

@Steve93  I sold my Glass gen 1 two years ago and moved to a Samsung OLED TV together with soundbar and puck.  Like you I would not even consider returning to Sky Q.  The convenience of the streaming platform is IMHO better than physical recording.
