The muffled sound issue appears to be a hardware problem with the Sky Glass panels.
This may prove to be a problem if you are out of the 2 year warranty. A repair or a new panel may need to be paid for out of your own pocket.
It would be useful to know if anyone has had to pay for a repair which worked.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreSome of the earlier units had muffled sound issues . Seems to have been less of an issue the last 12 months as o haven't seen many posts

If anyone has muffled sound ... wouldn't they report it Sky and request a replacement during the warranty period🤔

They should do.
Other chats reveal that people are using workarounds. Maybe because they're not aware it's a hardware issue.

Muffled sound appeared on my unit just as the 2 year warranty expired.

Using workarounds is never a good idea within the warranty period🤔
Hopefully they are also reporting the issues to Sky?

Hopefully.
Raising awareness should help with that.

Contact Sky. To be fair, they fixed my issue.

Like many I've read about, ours started the muffled sound only on certain channels just after the 2 year warranty expired, when it's a common issue surely the tv should be replaced. I now need to pay for a new one. Considering moving away from Sky now, I was advised to get Sky glass by Sky due to signal issues and now this happens. Seems to be a money making scam.

All I can suggest is to plead your case as best you can and to use the information here to your advantage.

It's not a solution and far from ideal, but a work around would be to connect a sound bar or other similar periphial and change the settings so sound comes out of that.

I had 2 replacements over 2 years ago and now out of warranty. The muffled, underwater sound is impossible. I now have to use bloodroots headphones too listen so only one person can watch! Just as well I live alone!
Does anyone know if a soundbar would resolve this problem?
