Our Sky Glass has had problems turning on over the past two weeks and today, after starting up, now has a 4 inch dark band running vertically down the right hand side of the screen.

Lines like this can be caused by software issues. Try turning your glass off for at least 10 minutes at the mains or overnight. If the issue still persists it could be a hardware issue and you will need to contact Sky to arrange a replacement under warranty or at cost if out of warranty (we are fellow subscribers here on the forum).

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHi @SunsetWolfI had something similar (if not the same) on a Glass TV about 18 moths ago. Mine had a 2 inch wide vertical grey stripe on the right hand side of the screen like yours.
I found that a normal reboot didn't help so I left the TV unplugged overnight and the line disappeared and luckily it never came back. Give it a try but, as advised by @mikealanr, if it doesn't resolve the issue or if it keeps coming back you should call Sky for additional troubleshooting and if necessary a replacement TV (assuming it is still within its 24 month warranty).

Thank you both, very informative. I turned it off last night but have not switched it back on yet, will do when I return home and see if the line has gone.
The strange thing is that on pressing the home button on the remote, the TV stays off but my surround switches on and then after about 10 seconds it switches back off again. There have also been times when the screen flashes but the remote does not work.
Hopefully unplugging it for the night will correct the problems, if not I will contact Sky as it is still under warranty.
Thank you again.
