Hello,
I'm from Italy and I have Sky Glass from almost 2 weeks and while the display is not so good for me is more then enough.
Anyway, this evening I've decided to watch TMNT Out of the Shadow that is in 4K HDR but the image quality was really bad. I have tried to tweak the image settings in any possible way but it was impossible to get a decent image quality.
Then I have decided to try to watch the same movie in Netflix and because I have just a Standard Netflix subscription I have only HD quality and...WOW!!!!
A completely different image quality, better color, better saturation, better of everything so: how is possible? Am I doing something wrong or the stream quality of Sky Glass is really that bad?
I don't think that is a problem related to my internet connection speed because I have a 100mbps FTTC that is working really well, speed test is 92mbps Down and 21mbps Up with a ping of 15ms.
Do you have any advice? Thanks.

It is possible you have a faulty unit as by default while Glass is not the best HDR TV it is not that bad. There are several different HDR systems the set suports but for Netflix it is Dolby Digital or HLG for Sky both of which is normally high quality.
If you were in the UK I would advise you to check the picture settings that firstly the auto-backlight setting is off (recent UK firmware QS013 has made this the default) secondly initially only use one of the preset viewing modes as changing the picture settings for SDR content can cause issues when the set switches to HDR mode which should increase the backlight from the SDR default of 50 to 100 and change the colour space.
If none that helps seek help, from your local Sky customer services.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes I know that this forum can only support Sky Glass for the UK but is the only place that I have found because in Italy we don't have a forum like this.
My Firmware version is QS013.502.00P and I have auto backlight turned off. My Sky Glass is 43inch
I have tried to play Black Panther on Disney+ that is in 4K Dolby Vision and WOW!!!!
Completely different image then a 4K Sky movie.
But what made me doubt that there something wrong on the sky side is that the same movie in Full HD on Netflix has better visual then the same movie in 4K HDR on Sky Cinema 4K.
I don't think that is a panel problem also because while I am in the menu to choose a movie, image quality is really good. Ok, isn't oled but is good quality.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@mkgraz84 Sounds a very similar set up,as ours which isnt totally surprising. HLG files looks almost as goodcas Dolby Vision on my Sky Glass.
Check another show not sure whst you get in your market but most of the Sky Nature docs in UHD are in HLG and look quite good as do the new Game of Thrones UHD transfers. The odd file does gets messed up in the processing from the master to the HDR file so it may just be a bad movie transfer. We report these to Sky UKs Viewer Relations team who get them reprocessed.
