I've bought a sky glass tv set 55" payment on a monthly plan. However I've recently measured the tv set and it measures 48.5" instead of 55". When it was delivered I could see that it wasn't the size I expected and and asked the delivery guys if it's the right size and they said yes.
Has anyone had a size problem with sky glass?
I need help as this is not even a size 50" it's 6.5" less than the 55" plan I'm on.
Thanx

Screen size in post-CRT televisions is always a diagonal measurement (ie top left corner to bottom right corner of the display panel, excluding bezel, speakers etc)
A 55" Glass television is 48.46 inches / 123.09 cm wide (side to side) because that's how rectangles work.

For a 16:9 aspect ratio (typical for all modern televisions) the screen width and height measurements are -

Same, it's tiny compared to our actual 55 inch TV. (Which we have already and the size difference is very noticeable) If we knew it was going to be so much smaller we wouldn't have bothered.

Did you actually order a 55" Sky Glass? As mentioned earlier in the thread, the diagonal screen size is what you need to measure. If you've been delivered a 43" model then you need to check exactly what you ordered and what you're paying for it.

With respect, that doesn't make sense: a 55" screen from any manufacturer is a 55" diagonal. A 55" Glass television will be bigger corner to corner than most other manufacturers 55" sets due to the speaker bar.
A 43" Glass would be significantly smaller than a 55" panel, even including the speaker bar.
