May be a silly question but does the wall mount of a Gen1 fit the Gen2?

My Gen1 is wall mounted and I don't want the hassle of removing and having to reapir the wall to fit another wall mount.

Are you using the mounting plate supplied with the Gen1 Glass TV to mount it to your wall or do you have a Vesa compatible wall mount?

If you're only using the Gen1 mounting plate then it won't be suitable - you'll need a different wall mount for the Gen2.

This is a great review, I have learned a lot.
I have been flirting with the idea of Sky Glass for a while as I have a lot of ugly wiring so this review has been very educational & comphrehsive. Thankyou 🙏.

Is new glass worth it?

Been a sky glass customer for many years is it worth going onto Sky glass 2?

Depends on if you've had a good experience with Glass gen1. If you like the hardware and how the SkyOS functions on it then the Gen2 Glass TV is definitely an upgrade in terms of image quality.

You can get better quality, more versatile smart TVs for the same/less money and add a Stream puck to it for the same SkyOS experience, but you won't get the Sky Glass aesthetic or built in soundbar.

When you're spending hundreds of pounds on a device such as a TV, it's important to do your own research and purchase whatever suits you and how you watch TV. If you've had a great experience with Sky Glass gen1 then gen2 should not disappoint.

Great review. Just one question. Why did you need to plug in an Amazon Firestick? Surely you can just use the Amazon TV app?

A device like a fire stick is useful to be able to access Apps which aren't available on Sky Glass.

So a streaming TV without all the apps? Which ones are missing? Or is this an oblique reference to jailbroken Firesticks...

I have Pluto tv, freevee,  Amazon photos, tune in radio ....... and I use now tv app for sky cinema (had a deal for 6 months)

also a good backup in case there's issues with the glass service. And going back a year or so the quality on the prime app on the firestick was much better than on glass.

also I like the fireplace and Xmas apps.

A lot of users have a Roku box plugged in to their glass to make use of the Roku channel and tv guide
