@Patricia8888Try the suggestion given by @david+john which may well resolve the issue.

If it doesn't help I can offer the following information but as I don't know what specific programme you are trying to watch I can't be sure if the following is relevant to your issue or not but I suspect it could be the cause.

Frequently Sky will show the next episode of a series as being available but in reality it has not yet been broadcast.  When you try to watch it you get the very unhelpful message to upgrade your subscription.

Ideally the programme should not be showing as available at all but if it does the error message should perhaps be a little more informative such as "Not yet available" or something along those lines.

Sky are aware of this issue and are working on a solution.

If you're trying to watch Annika series 2, the first episode worked fine for me last night. The rest of the series is dropping weekly so you can't binge the whole thing I'm afraid.

Nicola Walker is just superb. Interestingly the first ep on demand didn't have any ads in it which was a very pleasant surprise! It's the first thing we've watched via the puck in a couple of weeks... 😁

@SlenderRobert Yes, Nicola Walker was also great in Unforgotten and even though she is not in it any more I'm waiting patiently for the next series to start.  She was also in Spooks if you remember that far back (at a guess 10-12 years ago).

Weirdly alibi and drama don't seem to have adverts on demand

I watch the new series of csi and there's hasn't been one advert as yet

go to the program you want via the mic. when it gives you the message press the go back button . then click on other formats and choose SD, it shoud play in that
