Re: Sky Glass 65" tv wall mount help

If you use the black spacers supplied with the Sky Glass TV it WILL NOT sit flat against the wall, but protrude by around 16mm or so.

This will allow you to be able to accommodate the protrusion of a 3-pin plug for the power lead between the back of the TV and the wall. However, if the purpose of this design is to allow the back of the TV to sit flush to the wall, the spacers have to be omitted.

in order to get the back of the TV to sit flush to the wall using the mounting plate supplied with the TV, which also is used for the stand, I found that I had to use at least a thick (penny type) washer or 2 at each top fixing hole, between the back of the bracket and the wall, plus a single washer at each bottom fixing hole, in order for the TVand wall mount bracket to correctly engage into one another, thus allowing the TV sit flush to the wall.

This is definitely a 2-man job, but can be extremely fiddly to get alignment of the TV and bracket perfect.

The alignment template supplied with the TV will help, however if this is taped to the wall it may prove difficult to remove again once you get the bracket correctly engaged into the back of the TV.

Are there any Sky engineers/fitters who can confirm the correct wall mounting procedure in order to get TV sitting flat against a wall, as the template and fitting procedure shown on the wall mounting instructions  supplied with the Sky Glass TV appears to be incorrect, especially as they show that the black spacers should be fitted between the back of the wall bracket and the TV, meaning it WILL NOT sit flush to the wall.

Sky does not have 'engineers/fitters' for Glass.  I suspect a perfectly flush fit was never a design ambition, particularly as that significantly increases the risk that the top lugs won't be safely engaged.

Depends on the type of wall you're attaching the TV to.

It's not possible to safely advise on fixings through a forum.

Remember that the most likely point of failure is the wall fabric itself, not the bolts.
