I'd never consider a Glass TV as a main TV.  I changed from Sky Q to Stream/Glass as it was the only way to get the same deal I was on.  I bought outright a 43" Glass for the conservatory, with a Sky Stream puck for my main TV (a 2016 Panasonic DX902 Full Array Local Dimming TV).  My Broadband is BT Halo 3+ FTTC with 45Mbs sustained download speed.

The Panasonic DX902 achieves the sweet spot of 1000+nits for HLG/HDR10(No DV).  Only the newest OLEDS come close.

The built in sound is a deal breaker for me .... let s hope they retain it in glass 2

@Jporch316 Without doubt the sound on the Glass TV was excellent and by far the best of any built in TV sound I have ever heard.

Re: Will there be a Sky Glass 2?

Glass is an option in a secondary room but again there are far better options available and use a puck. The TV is pretty well built, solid but quality hmmmm.

Having changed whole heartedly to Apple I purchased two HomePods really good quality. Plus spacial audio through iPods pro puts you right in the middle of the experience.

as a side any Apple users alongside Stream noticed the vast improvement in iPlayer output quality this past week?  Content with the upscaling really has a 4K feel.

@Fothergill1 we've got a Samsung 55" QLED hooked up to an Atmos soundbar and Sky Stream with the UHD bolt on and the picture and sound quality that little puck kicks out to the right kit is mine blowing at times...

How much would this setup cost?   My contract has expired and I'm looking at options.

@Warmsley,

The only thing wrong with stream is the UI, Shame it can't have the same fundamental features of Sky Q with the same layout!

Re: Will there be a Sky Glass 2?

I can tell you now that the buy back option will not be happening. If you have an original Sky Glass TV you are stuck with. Upgrade to the new version will not be an option.

Re: Sky Glass 2.0

Just to resurrect this thread a little..

I went online to see what Glass availability was like, almost all the 65" have sold out and not many 55" either..

By this logic I wonder if a replacement is soon on the cards..

@Anonymous  IMHO stream with a decent TV and soundbar is far superior to Glass.  The initial outlay if you are replacing your TV is a little more but the viewing experience certainly warrants the additional cost.   I sold my Glass (at a significant loss as they have very little resale value) 12 months ago and do not regret moving to Stream in any way whatsoever.

Hi @Anonymous I advertised it on Facebook. Originally asking £350 but after a few weeks ended up accepting £250.  I live in the Channel Islands so had a limited pool of purchasers as it needed to be collected because it was too bulky and heavy to send out of the island without the original packaging.

I had a 43 inch from sky and last Xmas acquirerd a 55 inch on the used market locally (advertised on a popular social media sites marketplace!)

I had it for a fraction of the price of a new one as @Fothergill1  stated. I was also able to check it was fully working before purchasing

inalready had whole home and was snake to activate the tv within minutes and add to my account .

if they are selling out and not being replaced I wonder if it will affect the resale prices and push them up
