What I want to know is does this new TV solve the problem of No Internet Connection errors, even when the TV is connected direct to the hub by ethernet which my Glass TV suffers with on some occassions?

Recommended, although I note some of his "fans" are already moaning in his comments about how he has "lowered himself" by even talking about Sky Glass 🙄

@stereohaven I love me some Vincent Teoh but I was laughing so much at the comments. Comedy gold 🤣
I cannot get my head around why people get so incensed by...... a TV? 🤔 😂
I hope Vincent on HDTVTest will give an in depth review in the future, but he speaks in a careful measured tone eg he states at the very beginning of the video that his channel reviews "... fairly premium high end TVs...." and then subtely implies that Glass Gen 2 ain't one of those TVs.
Glass 2 is a mass market TV and nothing wrong with that.
Happy viewing... on whatever TV you have.

That review guide is pure pants. Talks abot leading class viewing angles, guess what has teh best viewing angles...OLED. Super bright HDR so how about sharing the NITS at 100% coverage and 10% window. I guess in the losest term it is a smart TV but jeez its more locked down then any Apple device has ever been. 60Hz refresh rate, wow, thats so 2015, how about 120Hz for people who like to plug their consoles into their TV. WiFi 6 (no 6e or 7) and where is Bluetooth 5.4, so pleased they made it future proof. A 100Mb ethernet port on the back? maybe thats where all the stuttering and streams falling out of sync comes from, SKy compressinb tyhe data so much t work on such a slow connection
You would need to be the most die hard of Sky Fanboys to call this a upgrade or woth it in any ways shape or form. If you do not need a Ferrari of a TV go buy a TV from Tesco for £200 it will be better else save the money till you have enough for a TCL or HiSennse OLED or Micro LED

While a 120Hz option is actually a benefit for some users, 'better' WiFi, Bluetooth and ethernet serve no purpose at all on a device which has no use for them.

There is no "Upgrade" route, you can order a new Gen 2 set, however any payments still to make on your Gen 1 set still need to be made, if it's been paid off you can sell or dispose of your old set in any way you see fit, there is no trade in value from Sky.
The costs of Gen 2 Glass will depend on the size and how long you're paying the set over have you checked the webste? https://www.sky.com/glass

How can you say there is no use for better WiFi Ethernet or BT. For one you build them in now to make the device future proof and secondly maybe if teh quality of teh wifi and ethernet was better there would be none of the ag or stuttering issues that have been so widely reported. As for Bluetooth *actuall teh wifi and ethernet to) maybe tou do not understand the benefit of a connected home with a 100 ish devices all having teh sme tech, at teh end of teh day i have light bulbd with better connectivity then this tv

Yes, I thought so too. He has a realistic understanding of the market the tv is aimed at. The tech. spec. snobs won't like it, though! 😁

Do you know how much interest these catalogue and credit cards (for bad credit charge) you end up paying loads back in interest. We have have to use a catalogue before for white goods for example and ended up paying back almost the same again in interest if making the minimum payments each month.
I do agree the price point is too high though.

Nothing to do with being a snob, more to do with not being stupid enough to fall for the marketing hype and commit to an extra £14 a month for a TV with 10 year old tech in it. In comparrision you can go on Currys and get a similar TV for sub £200 or i just found one for £269 with Dolby Vision and Alexa built in (ie, it really is a smart TV)
Or for £511 you get 48" OLED, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, 120Hz refresh rate and a true smart TV. Compare that to the 43" Sky Glass that cost £672
If you go up to 55" the difference is even more superior. The Sky Glass option costing £1100+, you can get a considerably better TV for that sort of money
I guess I am just a "snob" though

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@CliffyCliff Snobbery aside, I tend to agree with you that there are much better TVs out there at a lower price. About 14 months ago I took advantage of Black Friday deals and I sold my Glass TV and purchased a 65" OLED and Soundbar for a similar price to a 65" Glass TV. This coupled with a stream puck gave a much better viewing experience.
Although I have never regretted my decision I fully understand that Glass is a much better option for many subscribers especially with the finance free purchase option. Horses for courses etc......
