Scam caller
Has anyone had a call from +44 800 479 0758? They called and new how long I had sky glass for and wanted to ask some survey questions and if I'd be interested in insurance for it... stupidly gave my full name and address but no bank details but now worried it was a scam. Can anyone confirm if they've received one from this number or similar ? Thanks

Re: Scam caller
@Millsey1234 It may have been from Sky Protect or Domestic & General. What name did they give?
It is hard to know for sure in this day and age if the number has been spoofed. If in doubt the best thing is to check with Sky if they have called.
As long as you didn't give them your password or bank details I don't think you need to worry unduly.

Re: Scam caller
Pretty sure he said sky protect but offered a insurance deal if I damage or need a replacement sky can send one next day etc, which I did decline but I only got spoofed when I asked a question about the glass glass and he said he'd transfer me to the relevant team and it said it couldn't match my phone number to an account which I thought was odd as I've only ever used 1 phone number for everything.

That's a legitimate but deeply annoying call from Sky acting as an introducer appointed representative for the 'Sky Protect Device Insurance' scheme underwritten by Domestic & General.

Re: Scam caller
I've had this number call me 3 or 4 times over the last few days. I'm in India so didn't answer! If it's Sky Protect I'm not interested anyway.

Re: Scam caller
Yes I had the same this week, they start the call like they are your best mate with assurances that everything is working properly and that you've been looked at after by Sky through out the process and then give us more money with Sky Protect.
Currys instore were so annoying at this up selling insurance and AO called call too if you make a purchase. Insurance sell on fear!

Re: Scam caller
Also had this last week and nearly everyday since, didn't like the way they try to reel you in without actually telling you they're signing you up there and then. Asking you what other items you have in the house and adding them to the 3 device list you can have insured.
Was only when I said I'm not doing this now once I realised what he was doing that they stopped, told him to ring back the next but I obviously didn't answer and should really just block the number as not interested.
