Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHi @Ben43 as @UnrealityTV says the quality of the remotes is dreadful, really cheap and nasty.
You can now request a replacement remote online at Streaming TV replacement remote (if you sign into your My Sky account first the form will be partly completed with some of your relevant details).
If you have one available you can use a Sky Q remote while you wait for a replacement.

Sadly not uncommon. I've been through three of them in the past year. They're not very well made and QC is clearly not good enough.

Hi all
Just wanted to find out what the actual solution is. I've had 2 remote controls now. The replacement one has started acting up as well. It won't light up and pressing the buttons has no effect, except the power button I'm now down to using the old sky q remote control or voice commands. Spoke to customer service, who had called me for an unrelated issue, and all he said was there was a batch of faulty rc's which they're aware of. But is that the actual fix or will I have the same issue in a couple of months when my telly is out of the warranty period.
What I'm getting at is what's my next recourse if all these complaints indicate skyglass is not up to scratch? Are we liable to remain in a contract for a faulty product? Is onus on us to prove the fault, given the multiple comments around this issue here?

On 2 occasions when mine has stopped working I have got it going again holding the remote at both ends and gently twisting it as though I was wringing out a cloth (obviously don't over do it). It sounds unlikely but it often works.
The only other solution it to request yet another replacement at the following link:

Like you I have an old Sky Q remote which I use as a spare.
