Sally, you are a genius. Found the remote, red screen came up again, pressed ok and it worked. Thank you so much. Wish I'd used Sky community weeks ago when it first started happening

1. Switch the device into standby
2. Unplug it for 30 seconds
3. Plug it back in
4. Leave the device powered on for 30 minutes
5. After 30 minutes put the device back into standby
6. Switch it off at the plug
7. Wait 10 seconds
8. Switch if back on at the plug
9. Press the home button on the remote
10. The device will boot up and you will see the Sky logo on the screen

Thanks Mark, I'll try it and let you know how I get on. Can I watch the TV during the 30 mins or should I just leave it?

The message is probably from your TV, not the Stream puck. Use your TV remote (not the puck remote) to select the software update as it's your TV that has new software to download, not the puck.

That makes sense. Trouble is no idea where my TV remote is! Not seen it for years 😭
