Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Corinne321 just my opinion, but if it's critical that your dad keeps his number, I'd be very cautious about switching to Sky Broadband/Talk. While you can normally keep the number, it's not guaranteed. See the FAQ here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/switching-broadband-provider-switch-to-sky
The alternative is to cancel your Sky broadband/landline package. at the risk of paying an early termination charge (roughly equal to the payments you would otherwise make over the rest of your 24 months minimum term). If you explain the circumstances to Sky, they might waive the fee.
Note also that switching the landline to Sky means you'll very likely move to internet calls. If your dad already has BT's 'digital voice' calls he'll already be used to it.
