Sky admit that series link through play list on certain channels doesn't work. They say Sky Glass has no hard drive so can't store recordings but it does if you add it to plsy list whilst watching it during broadcast.

This isn't news. Sky glass or streaming pucks do not record. Some channels cloud record and some don't. Streaming rights is far more of a mind field than traditional broadcasting.
You will find that you add things to your playlist on one channel and it will try and play back with a different provider and there isn't much that can be done unfortunately.

Your message has confused me a little. You mentioned recording and hard drives in your first post and then have an issue with series linking? If you provide more information on you issue the community will do it's best to assist.
Series link works for content that is cloud recording as far as I can see in the content in my playlist.. is there specific content or channels you are having issues with?

The channels are CNBC and PBS America neither have a catch up service. It will record whilst watching but not on a series link. Really a downgrade from Sky Q
