Play list films

We have added films from sky channels onto our playlist, for example,  hot shots part deux was on comedy central, and when we've gone to watch it, it takes us to the film on Disney plus which we currently don't subscribe to. Any idea why this happens? Surely if we've added it from a standard sky channel, when we come to watch it, it should be available?

Because Comedy Central only have broadcasting rights?

While Disney+ hold the streaming rights!

@Steve+1977 @Evening. When you add a programme/film to the playlist. You aren't adding the channel - you are adding the programme. If like is said that Comedy Central only had broadcast rights - sky stream/glass searches for other forms of broadcast - ie it's available to stream on Disney plus.  Stream/Glass on the whole doesn't record. - although some programmes are randomly recorded to the cloud.

Try adding a film split into two with an entertainment news in the middle. On C5 for instance. The film does record to the cloud but you only get half og it. It never records part two. This is one of the most frustrating flaws for me.

That's absolutely ridiculous. I can't wait to be out of contract for Sky Glass. It's rubbish, rubbish, rubbish. It's also a con. They lied when they sat that if it's available, you can watch it. Yeah, if you fork out for Disney, Paramount etc. on top of your Sky subscription.

@BeeM001 The 2 parted film is an issue due to the braodcasters trying to get around OFCOM rules for the maximum amount of ads they can show, so is why they sandwhich short useless shows in the middle of films. For a mumber of broadcasters/channels this issue is now trsilved and Sky found a wormaround for it but it only works for the films/channels where Sky are legally able to takr a cloud recording.

Sky is a streaming platform, so it makes complete sense tbat in irder to watch some shows ond emand you would see susbcriptions to the other streamers who have the on-demand rights for the shows. Whilst Sky do take cloud recordings of some shows they just dont have the legal tights to be able to do this for all shows, and just because a channel has the broadcasting rights for a show it doesnt mean tbey have the permanent on-demand streamign rights on their free app.

As time has gone on, broadcasters liek ITV and Channel 4 have been renogiating some togbts which grants they broadcasterign and streaming rights ( although typically this is for a limited period). What you may notice is Disney + shows dont tend to appear for that long, or even at all, on other broadcasters on-demand platforms and that is likely a decision from disney when they are negoiating rights deals with the broadcasters.
