Re: Paramount with adds

I agree with you that it's not what you signed up for. It's galling when the goalposts are moved after you sign up to something for a particular reason.

In this case, I think it would have been good practice for Sky to have offered the ad free version for free to existing subscribers, as that's what you signed up for. New subscribers to Cinema or Paramount should get the ad version but there should be an option to upgrade, like with Netflix (I see it may be a future option but that doesn't help now). It's pretty laughable that neither Sky nor Paramount don't have the system in place to do this already.

@hankscorpio where in the image above is it differentiated? This is the only reference to upgrading within the whole article

Paramount call the shots here. Sky could only do that if requested to by Paramount Plus. They can't do so unilaterally.

Re: Paramount with adds

Sky could have offered to fund the difference for those subscribers affected maybe?

It doesn't affect me as I'm not a Cinema subscriber and have the ad version due to the Sky VIP offer. There isn't enough content on Paramount to make me want to pay for their offering.

Re: Paramount plus basic to standard

Don't know why the superusers keep trying to spin it a different way

I can't upgrade the package because it's locked in with sky Cinema.

There's no other spin to this

Sky won't release it. I'm stuck with a diminished service.

It's not Paramount holding it back.

Get a grip superusers, this is 100% a sky issue

Re: Paramount with adds

@Mark39 Paramount changes the tiers.

I had the ad free version with the sky Cinema offer.

Now I don't.

The service is diminished, no option to cancel with Sky without incuring penalties for ending sky Cinema early, which knocks on to other bundle deals, until December

I can't cancel as it would cost me A lot of money

There is no way to end the pack or upgrade it

Its locked to Sky Cinema.

I now have a worse service than the one I was offered at the Start.

Paramount is useless to me now, because Sky won't allow me an upgrade it to release it from the deal.

I should be able to be exonerated from the deal based on it's the same level of service I was receiving.

This is not rocket science

Re: Paramount with adds

@hankscorpio If you're signed in when you want to edit your post if you click the three dots in the top right hand corner of your post the top option is to 'edit post'. It only appears when signed in though and only for a period of time. Given the times of your other replies you could have edited the longer reply this way.

@hankscorpio you need to get to level 3 in order to edit posts and only have two hours from original post timestamp to do so

Appreciate the following post is the official response for now...

A timeline would be welcomed.  Keep up the hard work Sky devs, here's hoping to a quick solution.

Re: Paramount plus basic to standard

Sky glass already has amazon prime, register for paramount plus via amazon £7.99. Easy to go to amazon via sky glass and then click paramount plus. Watch ad free.

Re: Paramount plus basic to standard

That's through Amazon Prime - the issue is that Paramount account is locked to basic when signed up with Sky Cinema, it was a 'bait' to get people to sign up for Sky Cinema and get Paramount Plus ((which was ad free) - then Paramount 'switched' to a tiered payment system.

Now people who signed up Sky Cinema in the 'bait' are stuck with an ad-riddled service due to the 'bait & switch tactic'.

This has now resulted in Sky Cinema users who availed of the service being left with a lesser service than they agreed to during the initial 'bait'.

And telling customers to suck it up is not great.
