Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Rich1503 You need to take out a new subscription through Paramount. Sky give you Paramount for free but after Paramount made some changes to their tiers it is unfortunately now with adverts.
Personally, a few months ago, I cancelled Sky Cinema as it was too expensive (I used Netflix more often) and consequently lost access to the free add-on of Paramount +. If I wanted to there is no reason why I could not subscribe direct with Paramount but I haven't bothered.

I like sky cinema and I like paramount. I shouldn't have to take out a separate paramount plan. They allow netflix through sky to be upgraded and pay the extra so why not paramount. It is very inconvenient to be expected to take a new subscription rather than upgrade it

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Rich1503 Yes it would certainly be useful. As you say it is the case with Netflix but it still has to be a joint agreement between Sky and Paramount which for whatever reason doesn't seen to be forthcoming. Maybe it will happen in the future 🤷

I wouldn't mind so much if I could unlink my paramount account from sky and upgrade it directly. Again this can be done with Netflix as I unlinked my Netflix account as I get premium Netflix with EE so just unlinked it from Sky and linked it to EE.
With Paramount I can't even do that.
Yes hopefully they will do something about it in the future but in doubt it. They had fair warning that paramount was introducing tiers.

Sign up with a new email and pick £7.99 option(you get 7 days free trial) and then sign out of it on Sky Q/Stream and logging with new email and password or put code from Sky Q/Steam in to Paramount + account on Mobile Phone or PC to enable it and it will be upgraded, They made the basic option to advertise it so you upgrade and pay the full £7.99 a month, no one was sign up to it because it was free with Sky Cinema so Paramount +(ViiacomCBS) was losing to much money.
I upgraded it that way, I couldn't handle the adds any more, they have added them so they are are annoying so put there for that reason to get you to upgrade it.
You get adds at the beginning of the TV show(about 50 seconds) and adds after the tittle sequence(about 75 seconds) very annoying and they cut into the show at the wrong time they are AI controlled, so can cut into someone talking and never finish what they were saying.

I already know that i can sign up again, the point everybody direct seen to get is that I shouldn't have to go through all of that hassle to sign up with a different email address. I lose all my watch history my saved lists.
Plus I'm then paying the full cost. We should be able to pay an upgrade cost just like is available with netflix.
Sky do netflix premium for £11.00 or standard for £6. This is a reduced costn from full price as it is an upgrade cost. I really don't understand why Sky haven't set out an upgrade to the free with adds option that they have supplied.

@Rich1503 because the agreement they have with paramount doesn't currently allow them to

So paramount are not interested in people upgrading? I find that difficult to understand. But if that's the case I should be able to unlink my account from sky and transfer it directly to paramount and not have to create a different email address abs sign up again, which is what paramount have told me I would need to do.

I'm guessing paramount want people to sign up directly with them which would give them 100% of the subscription cost.

Then paramount are losing customers paying anything because I'm not going through the hassle of creating a separate email and a new account.
I would pay an upgrade fee but I won't pay full price just due to the adds when I get the basic service free. I very much doubt I'm the only person that would feel like that
