Paramount+ Spinning circle

Rarely used Paramount+, but the lad wanted to watch South Park (for some reason). All I get on both my Glasses and pucks is a white spinning circle when trying to play content. I've tried refreshing apps, signing out and signing in again. Nothing works. However, the mobile app using the same account details works without issue - so it's a Sky fault somewhere. Anything left to try? I've tried cancelling the 'subscription' through MySky, but there is no option to do so.

Hi @82bit I see you have tried a number of things but you have not mentioned a reboot of the puck.  Its worth a try as it often resolves these type of glitches but it is strange that it is occuring on more than one sky device.

Go to Settings > System Management > Resets & Updates > Restart device (do not do a factory reset).  It takes about 3 minutes to completely reboot. You will have a blank screen for a couple of minutes before the Sky logo appears so don’t worry when this happens as you start the process.

Re: Paramount + Spinning circle

Tried it. It's the same on all my pucks and Glass TVs so seems to be an account issue? The same account credentials play content on Paramount+ mobile app so that would suggest it's a Sky account issue specifically?

@82bit As requested I have escalated your post to the Sky Community Messaging Team who will send you an invitation for a private online chat.

The link below explains how the procedure works

https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Did-you-know/Escalating-a-post-to-a-Sky-expert/ba-p/3711147

Keep a look out for the speech chat bubble that will appear on the bottom left of your screen when you are logged onto this forum (you will need to refresh your browser from time to time until you see the chat bubble). When the blue bubble does appear you have 48 hours to respond or the chat will be automatically closed.

Re: Paramount+ Spinning circle

Remains unresolved. Community chat people unable to make account changes, so a bit pointless really.

Re: Paramount+ Spinning circle

A ridiculous workaround I've had to come up with - using my Apple TV  that is connected to the Glass TV to login to Paramount+ app on Apple TV using my Paramount+ subscription by Sky, to be able to watch content on Paramount+ through Apple TV on my Sky Glass TV  (same internet connection, so confirming its not a DNS issue that's blocking the Glass P+ app from working) Madness.

You're better off using the Paramount+ app on Apple's tvOS anyway - you'll get proper frame rate matching which you don't on Glass. Same with Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and most other apps. I ended up never using the third party apps on SkyOS when I had a Stream puck.

@BenJoBanjo yup I know what you're saying. The only issue - Sky have deliberately engineered the Glass to not respond to Apple TV remote commands - either IR or HDMI control. Extremely annoying not being able to adjust volume using the Apple Remote.

Sky know people feel like this and are either unable or unwilling to fix it.

I never got to the stage of even trying to control volume on Glass with an Apple remote. I returned the gen2 after just a few days. I've now got two Apple TV 4K boxes, both of which happily control the volume of the TVs/AVRs connected to them. We now just use the Siri remote for everything. CEC control works perfectly too.
