Is there anyway to connect USB to a Sky Glass TV?

Re: No USB connection available on sky glass tv?
No: the USB-C port on the v1 and v2 Glass is only for the Sky Live camera.
Glass v2 also has a USB-A,, port for an external Conditional Access Module.
Neither can access external storage. The workaround is to have an external device connected over HDMI which has its own USB port.

Re: No USB connection available on sky glass tv?
I understand there is no direct connection but is there a HDMI/USB connector?

Re: No USB connection available on sky glass tv?
There's no such adapter: you need a device which has an operating system that can mount USB storage and read its file format, and then do something with the files themselves such as play back video. Some Blu-ray players can do this.
Note that there's no way to record anything from Glass onto USB even if such a device is attached.

Re: No USB connection available on sky glass tv?
Thanks but if I'd known about this problem before, I would not have bought it and kept my 65" Toshiba which had all the connections!

Re: No USB connection available on sky glass tv?
Sky has never advertised USB functionality.
What is it that you want to be able to do?

Re: No USB connection available on sky glass tv?
True, but I just assumed all tvs had that connectivity as all my previous tvs did.
I have lots of movies saved on my computer that I have transferred to USB to watch on tv.
I just want to he able to carry on watching them on tv!

I have some home videos that are on a usb stick . I use my Xbox connected to my glass tv to play them. Cheaper alternatives that you can plug into the glass tv are some blue ray players have usb and on built players, or a firestick with plex app which can link to your pc and play files stored on there.

Re: No USB connection available on sky glass tv?
Thanks for your reply. Have you any ideas of the type of (cheap!) blu ray machines that would work? I have a Blu Ray disc player but it doesn't have any 'extra' sockets.

Peter

Re: No USB connection available on sky glass tv?
Set up Plex on your PC, get a fire stick to plug into your TV and watch through that.

Re: No USB connection available on sky glass tv?
Hi
Thank you, although I have no idea what a 'Plex' is. However I have solved the problem by purchasing a DVD Player that connects to the TV via HDMI, and has a USB input.

Plex is an app which can act as a streaming media player for content on USB storage or local network drives (amongst other things)
