New Sky Glass TV Multiple software problems

I have multiple software problems ranging from   Your card is inserted upside down:  Use your remote or the TV will switch off; you cannot use voicemail; and you cannot records this movie in total 7 issues.   I have done a full reset twice and the problems persist.

So a number of these issues cannnt in any way be related to Sky Glass as @Mark39 has pointed out.

if you have issues with different services I'd suggest raising separate posts about each service on the relevant board.

"Use your remote or the Tv will switch off" - so if leave a live channel pauses or leave the screen on the home page it will turn off after 10 minutes unless you pick up the remote. You can't do anything about that it's currently how the system is designed.

Not sure what you mean by "can't record a movie". Things don't record in the traditional sense. Some programmes/films may cloud record on Skys servers and be available for a limited time but for most content you will be directed to an on-demand catch up service that holds the rights to the film. Some broadcasters only purchase the broadcaster rights and don't have the on-demand rights. For films in particular you may therefore be directed to Sky Cinema or Sky Store when you playlist a film to watch it on-demand even if the film was broadcast on a TV channel. The film may be available on multiple platforms one of whcich you may have access to. You need to open the film on your playlist scroll down to "available now" And it will display a "Play on" button for each service the film is available on.

You posted in the Sky Talk (landline) forum which has nothing to do with Sky Glass.

Are you sure you have Sky Glass?

It doesn't have a Viewing Card.

It doesn't record.

Re: New Sky Glass TV Multiple software problems

Hi thanks for your interest.  Here are some of the issues I have.

1.  I have had Sky Glass for 5 months now on switching on the TV it tells me I need to upgrade my subscripton to watch BBC1

2  It tells me I am not connected to the internet when I am

3 It tells me my Sky card is inserted upside down.  I have never touched it

4 Your TV does not support voice activation.  I have checked settings

5  Tells me I cannot play programes i have saved in playlist although they are there.

6 I used to be able to access programmes I have removed but now cannot

I have now reset the tv twice to upgrade the software with little or no effect.

I understand I may be on the wrong forum as this one is for landline problems?

Anyway I will happily try elswhere but thanks anyway

Hi can you upload a photo of the viewing card screen as this is the first time I've heard of the issue (considering glass does

not have a viewing card) .

are you sure you are not using sky q plugged into a sky glass tv?

Re: New Sky Glass TV Multiple software problems

Hi Thanks for your reply.   At 80+ years of age I am still reasonably confident with technology but not necessaraly with the modern day terminology! The plastic card that came with the TV was inserted into the small black box and the TV has worked ever since.   It now tells me it is upside down and should be inserted correctly.  TheTV still works but with these intermittent issues.  The TV is connected through broadband and is SKY Glass

Hi

it sounds to me like you have bought a sky glass tv which replaces your old sky box. When you do this sky cancel your old sky box. You need to unplug the old sky box and cast aside (possibly to return to sky)

the sky glass tv has sky built in and is streamed over WiFi (not satellite)

each time you turn on your old sky box it's powering up and automatically transmitting to your screen
