So the 3 options for Netflix are:

Standard with Ads £0 a month, 2 devices, HD

Standard without Ads £6 a month, 2 devices, HD

Premium £11 a month, 4 devices, UHD

My question is do both standard provide 1080p HD?

Yes: Netflix no longer has a 720p tier for new users, either bundled or direct subscription. 

Some 'Basic' remains on current minimum term contracts.

Still on Basic here with 6 months left to run on my Stream/Glass TV package minimum term.

As far as us Sky inclusive of Netflix customers go, Netflix look to have almost done a Prime and now charge extra for what was previously 'free'/no extra charge.

Standard with Ads (2 devices): Previous: -  New: +£0

Basic no Ads (1 device): Previous:+£0   New: -  

Standard/Standard without ads (2 devices). Previous: +£4  New: +£6

Premium (4 devices+UHD): Previous: +£8  New: +£11

So another £6 per month to maintain the previous level of service (ad free, albeit with 1 extra concurrent device). Another £3 extra for UHD & Atmos relative to previous billing tier.

Can't say I'm too impressed, and I'm even less likely to go for the UHD+Atmos tier despite being able to make full use of both. Will see how the standard with ads tier goes come July and whether that means sticking with it, paying the £6 extra or just watching less Netflix.

Does anyone know if Standard with Ads still allows for downloading on mobile devices to watch offline and if so, how do ads with in this scenario? Ads embedded in the download?

Standard with Ads allows downloading on 2 devices for viewing offline. 

I presume the ads are embedded but have never had the service so can't say for sure. 

Since ditching Sky Stream I pay £10pm for Netflix Premium as an add-on to my EE mobile SIM contract, which is £1pm cheaper than Sky.

Small consolation, perhaps, but it's an even more swinging price rise on Q where the Sky HD and UHD add-ons no longer 'upgrade' Netflix at all, and the new 'Boost' is on top of an already-higher monthy cost for Ultimate TV than would be typical on Glass/Stream.  Almost as if Q is no longer the preferred platform going forward, really...

Out of interest how many adverts do you get on netflix and do you get any during a programme or film or just before ?

Yeah will be interesting. 

The odd occassion when i've watched something on FreeVee, i've barely seen any ads. I would be surprised if Amazon put more ads in the lower Prime tier than what they give on-demand from Freevee but then again they are going to want to encourage people to sign up to the higher tier.

I know you guys are just having an advert discussion but as an Asperger person you've thoroughly confused me here because the thread is titled Netflix and suddenly  I saw `Prime` mentioned. 

I didn't immediatly realise the difference for sometime and was concerned about my own use of Netflix which is the top tier advert free.

Please don't take this the wrong way because I'm not having a go here.....  I'm just hoping there'd be a little more clarity in thread comments.
