Multiple sets of "Custom" picture settings...?

Hello,

I recently upgraded to Sky Glass & just had a quick question for you Glass-savvy people if that's okay!

My question is: can you have more than one set of "Custom" picture adjustment settings? In other words, say I have a Blu-ray player in HDMI 1, and another Blu-ray player in HDMI 2, can I choose custom picture adjustments for each separate HDMI input, or can I only choose one set of "Custom" picture adjustments which work the same across everything, ie. Regular TV, HDMI 1, HDMI 2, HDMI 3 etc.

If I can have multiple, a custom set of settings for every input, please can someone tell me how to do this, please? I have tried but haven't been able to work it out thus far!

Many thanks in advance for your help! It would be deeply appreciated! 🙂👍

@fishingcane that is possible on many TVs but I don't think that Glass has a setting memory for different inputs. In practice given the relatively few picture settings Sky offer even if you could it would be pretty pointless to be honest.

That's standard functionality for any good TV!

If Sky Glass can't it's another reason to avoid Sky Glass?

@fishingcane

Sky Glass was designed as a simple solution for those that don't like to faff around with picture and sound settings (and have quite a low quality threshold) so unfortunately you can't set individual custom settings for individual inputs.

It's not like a standard smart TV - it's very much under Sky's control. The home screen layout, the choice of apps, the channel line up etc. are all controlled by them.

If you are the type of person who likes to have more control over how they watch TV and the devices attached to the TV, then Sky Glass is perhaps the wrong choice.

Re: Multiple sets of "Custom" picture settings...?

Any glass you should avoid. I have multiple inputs one being an old retro console which requires 4.3 and sharpness down if you do that it changes the input for everything and it's a massive pain not to mention the different HDMI ports are not even labeled and only show as a picture on the home screen ( all the same picture) it was probably one of the worst purchases I've made in a while and I regret getting it if you want different settings or multiple HDMI inputs this isn't the tv to get its set up to just run sky. It feels the options that are on it which don't relate to sky it feels they put these in because they had to and you can tell they clearly didn't want to have any options outside of just running paid channels.

Hi @Dareen180913 welcome to the forum.  I note your comment about labeling of HDMI ports.  I no longer have a Glass TV but do recall I managed to label my Apple TV but unfortunately can't remember how I did it.  Once done the Icon was also different to the standard HDMI ones.

There is a related thread HERE which may give you some help with this.

Re: Multiple sets of "Custom" picture settings...?

That's not true... some devices pick up what it is like PlayStation maybe apple but certainly not all...

Comment from the thread you actually sent me is below.

It's not possible to rename them. It does pick up the name from certain devices such as PlayStation etc.
