Multi room and broadband upstairs hardly work

I have sky glass which works ok (sometimes stop/starts) but main issue is the multi room and broadband. One of my puks is in the dining room which is right next to my living room/router. It's not reliable at all.. (always says 'waiting for channel to load'). Also have another puk upstairs in the main bedroom and I don't even use the sky in there it's that bad there's no point turning it on as it says the same and then when it does come on it just stops and starts all the time. Also the broadband signal up there is terrible. I have to use my 5G instead which is frustrating as I pay a lot for this package and it all should work fine - we only live in a 3 bedroom semi. I think that the broadband is the issue as everything runs off that now so I need help rectifying this problem.
ps I have another puk in my bar which is 30 meters away. That doesn't even come on at all.

What broadband speed do you have? How are you connecting? WiFi? Ethernet?

Run speed tests on each device to find out what speed is actually reaching them. To do this open the Netflix app and navigate to the Get Help menu. Then run a network check from there.

Re: Multi room and broadband upstairs hardly work

@Manny123456789

The speed to your Glass should be more than sufficient for a stable service but both the Glass TV and Stream pucks are very sensitive to speed fluctuations so if you can connect with ethernet cable direct to your router (or with powerline adapters) then you'll have a better chance of keeping the speed stable.

Sky recently updated the minimum recommended speeds for Glass/Stream from 10Mbps to 25Mbps so your dining room puck is already struggling.

Re: Multi room and broadband upstairs hardly work

I have just relocated my router (further away from my tv and (no obstructions now) and the sky glass is coming up at 86mbps

dining room is 68mbps so we have a massive difference already. Will keep you posted on how it plays out. Thanks for your help 🙂

Couple of solutions that involve a little expenditure

- powerline home plug adapters that use your existing electrical wiring as ethernet delivery

- a WiFi mesh system

I used powerline adapters (tp link) that I picked up on Facebook marketplace for a tenner

I've since switched to using google WiFi mesh (the older system before nest) that I bought a couple of units second hand on eBay

Hi @Val691 and welcome to the forum.  You have posted on an old thread with the last post being 11 months ago.

Like you we are customers on this forum and you are therefore not addressing Sky.  You will need to call them to discuss your issues and hopefully find a resolution.  If you are out of contract or within 31 days of activating your Glass TV you can cancel the service without penalty.
