@AndyHaz  I can't see your video yet as it is waiting for approval by a community moderator (as the poster you will see it), however from your description it sounds pretty terminal. .

I would call sky for some troubleshooting and if necessary a replacement TV provided of course it is still within your 24 month warrant period.

To call Sky if they are your mobile provider you can phone them by  dialling 150.

If it is not your provider follow this link https://www.sky.com/help/home and scroll down to need more help, click on this and you will see an 0333 phone number to use to call Sky. Unfortunately I cannot include the actual phone number as the forum filters will block it.

To get past the chatbot just stay silent when it asks you questions and it will eventually put you through to the Customer Services team.

@AndyHaz  Your video has been approved so I have been able to hear what the issue is.  Although yours sound much worse than mine,  a couple of years ago I had a similar noise and at the same time the screen pixelated and froze. It was close to bedtime so I unplugged it from the wall socket and left it overnight.  In the morning when I plugged it in the sound was back to normal.

Give it a try but if in the morning the issue is still there or it comes back again then I would follow the advice I have already give.  If still under warranty I would request a replacement.

@AndyHaz

This has been a regularly reported random issue with Sky Glass. There have been reports of it happening ever since Glass launched over 3 years ago.
If it doesn't clear after being powered off overnight then definitely request a replacement. Your video also seems to show very uneven backlighting (dirty screen effect) on your TV so worth mentioning that too.

Yes, we are experiencing this now, and sky are telling me it's not a known fault. Clearly it is.  Started after approx 2 weeks, and now only been 34 days and it's happened at least 6/7 times. Really fed up with this tv.

We have the same, this TV is not of quality or fit for purpose. Just happened again, watching a series and it does the same thing. Sky won't cancel contract, forcing us to have another TV. Less than 2 weeks old the fault started. Finally got a helpful advisor but it's now 2 days over the 30 day cooling off period and they won't help. They have no clue about manufacturer faults. This TV is clearly not working, I haven't met one person yet who has said it's great! Shame on Sky for continuing this shambles of a cover up! If you have just got one or intend to get one, don't or send it straight back.

Sky Glass TV, don't do it! Screen freezes, loud knocking noise!

  • Such a poor quality products not fit for purpose. Less than 2 months old and constantly does this. Started less than 2 weeks of owning. Sky will only replace, won't cancel contract as advisor states was 32 days into contract and 2 days over cooling off period. Terrible service, so disappointed with how Sky have managed this issue. Told lies to begin with that this wasnt a know fault when clearly it is!
