Sky glass sound with no picture and not able to load any programmes

Within the last week or so I am having to restart my Sky glas because the picture suddenly disappears half way through a programme or it will not play a live tv channel saying there is a technical error. When I restart it works again, but surely I should not need to do this daily. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Try unplugging the tv from the mains for about 10 minutes, then plug the tv back in and at the same time push and hold in the power button on the side of the tv, if are trying  and also how is your  tv  connected to the Internet  ?, i have my tv connected  by ethernet cable and  I  personally  have never had this problem  in over 3 years, if none of these  work and your  tv is still  under warranty  then call sky and ask to speak to the  tec team

Re: Last few days, technical fault with channel, disney plus etc works.

so frustrating.  All has been well for 2.5 years, this week it needs turning off and on at the mains to get anywhere.  Phoned Sky Helpline, and a man calling me Mr Nick told me it was because a speaker was too near the router. But it's been fine for years I said.  He promised me that moving the speaker wouldd cure it.  No, I said, because if I reboot it TV,  it works, even if the speaker is still there.  He insisted, so I moved the speaker and the lamp, rebooted the router, turned tv off and on.  The Last Stand came on, helpdesk was delighted.  I sat down to choose a film, which promplty went into "please wait for your program to load." then it went back to menu.  I did a restart, chose the film again, ads started, then screen went black, audio only.
I had insisted moving a speaker would not cure the problem, but had to go through all that rigmarole for nowt.  It's gone 9pm now, so can't ring again.

Someone must know why this has been happening to countless people over the last couple of weeks, I'd rather be told they're working on a fix than **bleep** about every evening.

Re: Last few days, technical fault with channel, disney plus etc works.

All of this stated happening last year when they changed code for someting handling the core functionality of the TV. I'm not a developer, but I am failry interested in tech, having worked with it for decades. The reason I think it's a core change they refuse to roll back, for reasons being stupid, is because there are so many weird ways to trigger playback failures. These failures happens guaranteed if you repeat things that caused it to fail before your last factory reset. This is not random, or rare. The easiest way I can trigger it is by connecting my TV to my headphone amp by bluetooth. Within 24 hours everything is corrupted. HDMI audio gets way out of sync. The whole user interface acts up and start playing the same effing Prime Video ad randomly. Live broadcasts gets garbled, and I get that black screen of death everybody complains about. They know where to look. They just don't care as long as they're getting their monthly subsciptions.

Re: Last few days, technical fault with channel, disney plus etc works.

Having the same issue.

No problem with the internet connection itself. Turning the tv off at the socket and then back on again fixes it temporarily but it always goes off again.

Sometimes the picture will disappear and the sound will keep playing, other times it will just say "there is a fault with this programme"

Apps like Netflix and Disney don't work either, sometimes the only way to watch TV is through my Apple TV which is connected via HDMI.

I have done a full factory reset and it did nothing to fix the issue, very frustrating, I'm paying £60 a month for this TV and my Sky package.

Re: Sky glass message waiting for programme to load

This happens to me twice a day at least and resetting it to temporarily cure the not loading issue then when turning the TV back on at anytime, it refuses to load so back to settings for yet another restart. Nothing to do with my broadband. I'm going to factory reset it to see what happens after that. It was ok for the first month of having it then it's happening all the time, now.

Re: Last few days, technical fault with channel, disney plus etc works.

Morning

I am having this issue this morning, blank on live tv after playing ~20 mins with picture and sound. I just have sound and a blank screen right now. Sometimes it goes to a OSM - Please wait for your programme to load.

Apps will load but will play with a blank screen.

Iv rebooted through settings many times and done unplug resets too, nothing is fixing the service. Rebooted router.

BB is fine on all other streaming services, its just a sky issue.

This needs fixing ASAP.

sky glass not loading channels

Been having new issues with Sky Glass TV not loading channels and comes up with Technical Fault. Now I can not stream any thing on apps like BBC, 4, iPlayer. The issues seemed to be resolved temporarily if I turn the telly off and on, however it's getting to the point that I am having to do this every 30 minutes.

I rang sky and the lady on the phone stated that there was a none system error for Gen 1 and Gen 2 TV that was activated through the last update. She didn't know when the issue would be fixed only that they were working on this, and basically I just need to live with the issue.

Three weeks in and still seems no resolve, so we are paying for a service that we are not receiving. I am just out of contract and to be honest ready to cancel, though I'm wondering could a pick be used to resolve this issue?

Any advice would be great fully received
