Re: Last few days, technical fault with channel, disney plus etc works.

Following the advice on here I did a full factory reset....it's quite straightforward and, in my opinion, there is no need to be on the line to Sky while you do it. So far it is working, but I note that some people have done this and the problem, althought fixed temporarily, re-occurs later.

There is clearly a problem with Sky Glass that Sky are reluctant to admit or address. I have had the set for 2 years without a problem then in the last week this started to happen, it isn't to do with wifi, the connection is fine and the home screen comes up without any problem. It also affects Netflix and the other apps on Glass but my other tv which is connected to the internet works absolutely fine.

Re: Last few days, technical fault with channel, disney plus etc works.

Honest to goodness, I'm heartily sick of all this. I have had at least one problem a day throughout the winter and this has accelerated in the last week, with the addition of the Black screen with sound problem kicking in as well. Was part of an F1 discussion complaining about recordings not appearing on the planner last year.  Forum topic was closed by Sky during the close season, and marked as solved. IT WAS NOT SOLVED!!!!! It's back in all its former glory along with all the above. I've been with Glass since 2022, and am in my second contract. It has deteriorated significantly since I renewed. Some people abandoned Sky Glas/Stream when offered a route out through Sky Q or Now TV (both Sky owned). Please, will some competent person call me up and offer me a way out of this. Please. I'm 70yrs old, need simplicity and am prepared to go to Sky Q for a quieter life and enjoy my Sky F1 when I want to, not after I do resets and other remedies every day.

It may have fixed your problem and you may have been lucky.

Sky have mentioned to us to not encourage customers themselves to do a factory reset, unless Sky have asked them to do so.

Doing a factory reset can cause further issues and Sky account issues that only Sky on a call can look to fix or pass on for further investigation.

Anyway, glad your working again.

Another Superuser has in our closed area flagged this thread for further investigation.

Ach no!! Good job I'm on Anti Depressants. After rebooting again, soft this time, I've got this. Wanted to catchup on F1 qualifying, now I'll have to go to Ch4 for highlights. Not going through another season like this. Sky Q is what I want as an alternative. Please!!🙏. But will my 3 yr old Sky Glass TV accommodate Sky Q?

Does anyone know what's causing this, I'm new to sky glass and am really regretting choosing it as it's been terrible from day1

Yes, any Sky Glass television set can be a monitor for a Sky Q box.

Thanks for that, hope springs eternal. I will go on bended knee and see if Sky will accomodate me. I have been with them through all their technical iterations wirth this and feel I deserve a break.

This was supposedly resolved and forum topic closed by Sky. Obviously when the weight of all of us using the system in the real world, something is seriously wrong.Screenshot 2025-04-13 at 10.57.22.png

Somehow my screenshot for previous post was not accepted. Here it is in photo form. Posted by Sky Employee back in early January. Excuse my lack of expertise. I am 70.

Yes you are right about that. The Black screen with sound is. But previous issues with F1 have returned. Just adding to the list.

Re: Last few days, technical fault with channel, disney plus etc works.

The sky support said there was some sort of issue reported, possibly since a recent upddate affecting some customers....I've had this problem since Thursday now - its great paying for a service that isn't delivering.

Re: Last few days, technical fault with channel, disney plus etc works.

I've had issues for over a week screen goes black but still have sound, spoke with sky twice today who said there are no issues reported of this that they are aware of, they had me reset tv and broadband and still it did it. They then got me to connect tv via cable rather than WiFi and since then it hasn't done it. My puck has never done it so it's clearly a sky update issue but they won't ever admit it.
