Keep having to unplug and restart Sky Glass

If I watch something on My Programmes or Continue Watching, or even switch to watching on Discovery+, live tv won't work anymore unless I unplug and restart. Have done this 7 times today already. I have had to this many times before, but usually only once a day or so. Today it's just ridiculous. What is wrong with Sky Glass?

Are you exiting the apps you are using or just pressing the Home button to get back to the Sky Home screen? 

 

From my experience i've found its best to exit each app after you have used it ( go to the apps home screen and press the back button, this will either exit back to the Sky Home page, bring up a prompt, or show you the side menu where there will be an exit button).

I'm using various methods when I finish a programme: I usually use the back button to return home, but it only takes me so far and I have to press the home button eventually, especially if I'm in Discovery Plus, Netflix or Prime. Like I say, this is a regular ocurrence, it's just today that's it's out of control. I wonder if the television is at fault, not my method of using it.

Prime will bring up a exit prompt, Netflix and discovery have an exit button on their side menu.

 

I used to have similar problems and required regular mosh reboots, exiting the apps solved it and I incredibly rarely have to do reboots anymore.

I'm sorry, I just don't understand what it is that I am doing wrong, and why today it is happening every time. I just did a Continue Watching which was and ITV programme, I used the back button to return all the way to the home page, tried to go into live BBC and got the same error message. 

 

What do I have to do differently that used to work just fine, but today is never working? If this continues I'll have to go direct to Sky and ask for a replacement because this is just ridiculous.

This has been happening to me all day too.  Watch something from my playlist. Press home and choose any live tv Chanel and I just get the blank screen with the 'wait for program to load' message. After a few minutes it just returns to the Home Screen

Follow up to my last message.....  just opened a couple of apps and closed them using the 'back' button.  Seems to have solved the problem for now as I can now get the live channels ok (for now?)

I had the same problem....  try opening a couple of apps and coming out of them using the 'back' button instead of the' home' button.  Seems to have solved it for me.  Hope this helps

Nothing has changed, no matter how I exit. This is a new thing, and it's extremely tedious and shows another fault with Sky Glass. Seriously, if you don't have Glass, don't bother.

You'll need to report this to Sky themselves, rather than on this forum. Level 2 support are investigating this same issue for me. We counted 22 reboots yesterday throughout the day as it repeatedly froze when switching between playlist, live TV and on demand apps.

There appears to be a wider issue affecting mupltiple customers.
