I'm thinking of cancelling Sky and switching to Now Tv and want to know how my sky glass tv will operate. Does it become a normal tv? Can I still get apps like BBC IPlayer and Netflix? Will I still get good sound quality? Will I get good picture quality as it's not great at the moment. Do I just hook up to my old aerial. Just can't afford Sky subscription anymore. Any help appreciated

Hi @Chica
You will loose the TV guide. You will still have access to apps. See: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-glass-without-a-subscription
If you disconnect from the internet and have an aerial you can access some DTT Freeview channels. See: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/tv-input-app-on-sky-glass
Your HDMI ports will work as normal for you to plug a NowTV capable device in to it.

Re: How does the sky glass tv work if you cancel sky subscription
@Chica In addition to the excellent reply to your post by @mikealanr I would like to add that Sky will (should) send you an alternative remote as per the example in this post
Remote delivery time is generally 8 weeks (31 days’ cancellation notice period + 4 weeks after cancellation date). If you have not received the remote within that time frame you should phone them.

Nothing: that's behaviour as designed.
Quite why Sky have chosen to do it that way is a different issue.

Re: How does the sky glass tv work if you cancel sky subscription
Hi @Lane_75
That's the way it works as per my post above. If you disconnect from WiFi you can get some DTT (Freeview) channels but not apps, or if connected apps but not DTT.
Sky only allow the aerial connection for backup purposes. If you read the article in the link above, sky glass with out subscription is basically apps only.
You may find it easier to use a Freeview box.
