Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Vonnnny follow the instruction in the link provided by @GD1 but be aware that the back of the remote can be VERY stiff the first couple of times you remove it and it only slides about 4-5mm.

The Sky stream puck remotes are very poorly designed, virtually impossible to slide open from new. There is nothing to grip. I managed to insert my fingernails up the sides of main remote and opened it after a few hours to enable me to remove the white tab which had ripped when I pulled it, but so far the second remote has proved impossible to open. 🤬

A number of recent posts have mentioned wearing rubber kitchen gloves helps to give more purchase on the plastic components.
I find holding the remote at both ends with the buttons down and my thumbs on top and then applying pressure and pushing with one thumb and pulling with the other in the direction of the arrow is sufficient to remove the cover.

Thanks for that suggestion, I actually used a couple of plastic jar-opening mats, one on each side of remote and shifted it immediately. Annoying that people have to resort to this though

Sky remote has the worst design. I mean, what is aesthetics wihout functionality. The worst part is that Sky refused to work on customers' feedback and fix the gaddam remote. Annoying because they have sent a second remote and it's still the same problem. I can't watch the TV I pay for.
