Re: Help! - Selling Sky Glass

@SKY1992bf

Thanks, yes I have, we are trading messages back and forth.

Their solutions so far:

1 - contact the buyer and ask them to factory reset again.  The buyer kindly did that yesterday evening, but so far I don't believe that has affected anything.  The Sky Glass TV is still on my account as the primary device.

2 - cancel my whole Sky subscription and start again.  I am reluctant to do this as it feels like cracking a nut with a sledgehammer.  I'm under contract for some pieces, I would apparently need to start with a different email, plus I may lose my Diamond status.

I am messaging them again today to ask again if there is a technical way to deregister the Glass TV and make one of my pucks the primary device.  I obviously an not a Sky expert, but it does not seem plausible to me that it is impossible to do that.

I think you maybe better served calling into sky and speaking to tech support. I have no doubt they have the capability to remove your glass tv from your account .

@jimjam3049

If you have more than one Glass, then you can only set the other as a primary. If you don't, you would need to set one of the pucks as a primary and then remove the glass, you should be able to this on the link below

@SKY1992bf

Thanks, at that link, I had a Sky Glass TV as the primary and 2 pucks also listed, but i could not change the Primary device, there was no option to do so.

In any case, the private chat with Sky has now solved this.  Whomever I was talking with was able to deregister the glass at their end and make one of the pucks the primary device, so now solved.  I just had to persevere as originally when I called Sky yesterday they told me what I was asking wasn't possible.

I will post separately as well that this is resolved.

Re: Help! - Selling Sky Glass

Resolved!

The online private chat with Sky, which was referred from this forum, has resolved my issue.

The agent was able to deregister the Sky Glass TV from my account and make one of my pucks the Primary Device.

Thanks a lot to everyone who was helping and providing input, and I hope this thread may be useful to others, it's a case of persevering to get the right support.

Thanks again!

@jimjam3049

For my own curiosity! Was the person you sold it to using with a sky subscription or just as a normal tv ?

@Jporch316

My understanding was that the buyer was planning to use as a gaming tv, so a games console connected via HDMI.

@jimjam3049 Good news. It is a bit of a lottery when you ring Sky sadly. Some advisors are great and very knowledgeable, others - not so much!
