Glass TV died. Black screen. Wierd chome in start-up
Hi, my glass is just over two years old and no longer under warranty. Sky support told me to a hard reset but that didn't work. Black screen although the backlight is on. Makes a weird chime on start up; never heard that before. Anyone else experienced this?

Sounds pretty fatal I'm afraid.
As you're out of warranty you'd be liable for any repair work if the main motherboard has gone, unless you have Sky Protect insurance.
It may be more cost effective to see if Sky will sell you a refurb Glass unit at a discounted rate, or buy a second hand one from eBay. There are plenty on there, often very cheap as they don't hold their value very well, especially as it's a near 3 year old model of TV now.
Alternatively, you could buy a new smart TV (John Lewis & Richer Sounds offer free 5 or 6 year warranties with TVs) and get a Sky Stream puck instead. You could transfer your existing Sky streaming TV subscription from Glass to Stream quite easily.
