Game Mode on Sky Glass

When is Sky Glass Game Mode arriving, as the 2.1 HDMI technology is built-in to the TV, all we need is an OS update to activate it, I am aware that it is built by Philips, but even their 2.1 HDMI TVs support game mode?

It's not arriving.

Sky Glass is made by TP Vision, not Philips.
It's designed for watching Sky's content, not playing games from other company's consoles.

Re: Game Mode on Sky Glass

@Mordew_Sr When were you advised a 'game mode' was coming to Sky Glass. The technical specification of Glass - do not lend themselves to Gaming. You would have been better off going for a LG C series and a stream box

Sky Stream x 2
LG C2 OLED 55inch
Sonos Playbar
Virgin 1 Gig
Virgin Stream Box
Xbox X
Apple TV 4K
Amazon 4K Firestick Roku 4K Google Chromecast

Koninklijke Philips N.V. now makes highly specialised medical equipment: everything else with a Philips badge is manufactured by someone else.

TPV Technology licences the Philips branding for television: TP Vision is a subsidiary of TPV and appears to be assembling the sets sold as Sky Glass.

Re: Game Mode on Sky Glass

TP Vision assemble the tv for Sky.  Glass was designed by Sky. All the parts appear to be manufactured for TP Vision too. I saw a breakdown video

Re: Game Mode on Sky Glass

Hi Mordew_sr,

It see me everyone that's replied has ignored your question, so I am sorry about that.
Currently there is a section on your Home Screen under the games menu which offers basic games operated via the sky remote, if you have or choose the get sky live then this offers more games to play such as Fruit Ninja.
I have a Xbox Series X, the console and tv work in harmony with each other.
They are in 'hdmi link' so if I turn on my Xbox the tv comes on, if i turn off my Xbox the tv turns off. If I turn the tv on the Xbox will not come on unless I turn it on.

I hope this helps

By game mode I assume you are referring to fps? And possibly latency ?

unfortunately it is what it is and no software update is going to alter the spec

'Game Mode' in this context refers to HDMI 2.1 auto low latency (ALLM) with no motion processing applied by the television set, not the onboard games.

Indeed it goes some way to alleviating the issue .... although not fully and only for the newer consoles (sadly not my aging Xbox one s
