I believe you are referring to the black bands on most shows. Unfortunately these appear depending on how the relevant show / film was made. Its the aspect ratio of the particular show and is how it was intended to be viewed. Some tvs have a zoom function although you lose some of the picture if you do this. Unfortunately the sky glass tv does not have this feature
